The region has gained recognition as it ranks 5th in the country for attracting international investors, according to the International Economic Development Council. Coimbatore and its suburbs have been witnessing remarkable growth and development, making it an attractive destination for real estate investing.

In light of Coimbatore's future needs and the anticipated requirements of its population in 2041, various government departments, including the Coimbatore Corporation, are diligently revising the Master Plan for the city. According to reliable sources, the draft of the plan is currently in its final phase.The rapid expansion of medium, small, and tiny industries in and around Coimbatore has been a major driving force behind its success. The city's allure lies in its skilled workforce, renowned educational institutions, pleasant climate, strategic location, robust infrastructure, and excellent connectivity.

The launch of new infrastructure projects such as the Metro, Vandhe Bharat, and Ring roads is set to propel Coimbatore to new heights. These projects, once completed, will enhance the city's transportation network and connectivity. As a result, the demand for residential and commercial properties is expected to surge in the suburban areas.

The surrounding villages are witnessing a rise in retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and senior citizen communities. The availability of suitable climate, abundant water resources, quality medical care, and nursing skills make these areas highly sought-after for retirees and NRIs and even people from other relocating from other parts of the globe/country.

Several flyover projects initiated by the previous AIADMK government, continued by the subsequent DMK government, and ongoing infrastructure projects launched by the current administration showcase a long-term vision for the city. The expansion of the airport, construction of the western Ring Roads (bypass road), the relocation of the central jail to the outer suburbs, and the Semmozhi Poonga project are among the notable initiatives. The Metro Transit project is anticipated to be completed within five years. Work on the Integrated Bus Terminus, Eastern Ring Road, widening of Sathy Road, and the construction of three overpasses in the city is already underway. Moreover, plans for expanding railway stations in Coimbatore are in the pipeline.

Coimbatore, which had been neglected by both state and central governments for many years, has witnessed tremendous growth owing to the unwavering determination, hard work, and innovation of Coimbatoreans.

In response to the pressing demand for modern amenities and infrastructure by the industry and trade associations, the District Administration initiated the preparatory work to revise the plan a few years ago. Currently, minor adjustments are being made to the draft, and it is expected to be finalized within the next 1-2 weeks (August 2023). Following this, the plan will be submitted to the Government and subsequently released to the public for review and feedback.
Recognizing its self-driven progress, authorities have now started paying special attention to the region, particularly in the past seven years. With the realization of these infrastructure plans, Coimbatore and its suburbs are bound to reach new peaks of prosperity.
